A rare and comprehensive work detailing models and inventions in all fields including mathematics, music, astronomy, etc. 

Bound in original, period full mottled calf with 5 raised bands, 2 gilt tooled titles on morocco with the other 4 compartments gilt stamped floral decorations, hand marbled inner boards and endpapers and 81 engraved fold-out plates and additional engraved devices throughout.

2 blanks, 1 leaf half title, 1 leaf title, viii, pp 1-240, 81 fold-out plates (numbered 215-295), 2 end leaves. Complete. 

Very Good condition. Exteriors showing edge and shelf wear, some rubbing. Interior pages showing some foxing, sporadic browning and toning to pages as is normal with 18th century paper, some staining to lower edges of the pages runs in and out throughout the volume to some degree, not affecting the text or engravings.
